Lead with authority, not exhaustion.

You have built a successful career in STEM. Now it is time to be recognised not only for what you deliver, but for the judgement, influence and leadership you bring.

For mid-level women in corporate STEM who are done with being overlooked, overworked and under-rewarded - welcome. This is where you step into your voice, reclaim your time, and build a leadership identity that doesn’t cost you your health, happiness or authenticity.

Discover the pattern shaping how you are working, leading and being seen. It takes just a few minutes.

You are trusted with responsibility.

But are you being given real authority?

Being trusted with everything is not the same as being trusted to lead.

Perhaps you have become the dependable person who keeps everything moving.

You take on the difficult work, solve the problems and step in when others do not.

Yet the recognition, progression or influence you expected has not followed.

Nothing here suggests a lack of ability or ambition. It means the way you have learned to create value may no longer be the way to create your next level of leadership.

You may be:

  • working harder without moving forward

  • relied upon for delivery but excluded from strategic decisions

  • carrying work that should belong to other people

  • struggling to make your expertise visible in a complex organisation

  • questioning whether your current path still fits the life and leader you want to become

  • exhausted with no energy left for your home life

Find out what's keeping you stuck. Take the Scorecard.

Being indispensable can quietly make you invisible.

Hard work creates trust, but it does not always create authority. In many STEM organisations, capable women become known as the safe pair of hands: essential to delivery, generous with their expertise and always willing to carry more.

The very patterns that built your reputation can eventually limit your visibility, drain your capacity and keep you operating below your strategic value.

The answer is not to work even harder, perform confidence or become someone you are not. It is to change how you lead, where you place your energy and how your authority is experienced by others.

This is Aligned Authority.

Aligned Authority is leadership that is clear, grounded, influential and sustainable. It brings together strong performance and humanity, so you can create meaningful impact without building your career on over-functioning or self-sacrifice.

It looks like:

Strategic influence

Your thinking is heard, your judgement is trusted and you contribute beyond the work directly in front of you.

Visible leadership

You are recognised for your ideas, decisions and direction—not only for how much you deliver.

Sustainable performance

You lead with clearer boundaries, more purposeful use of your capacity and a life beyond work in which you are genuinely present.

Career alignment

You make deliberate choices about progression, change or reinvention rather than waiting for the organisation to decide your future for you.

What is your current authority pattern?

If you know you are capable but the way you are working—or being seen—is no longer enough, the Aligned Authority Scorecard will help you identify what is happening.

In a few minutes, you will discover whether you are currently operating as an Indispensable Deliverer, Overlooked Expert, Exhausted Rescuer, Emerging Authority or Aligned Leader—and the shift that will make the greatest difference now.

Testimonials

"This has allowed a more productive work environment and also a harmonious home space"

"The whole program is unique and nothing like I have done in my 20 years in the industry. I think that is due to the approach of the training at a personal level and looking at emotions and the female traits in business setting and really understanding them and using them in a positive way in the workplace and in life in general.- Shelina Kherry, Clinical Account Manager

"I felt supported and no longer alone"

" I went into the course with a great deal of overwhelm surrounding my responsibilities as a parent and as a manager. Now, I am far more open and comfortable to use my voice, serve my needs and believe in myself; letting go of striving and perfectionism and being present for my family.." - Jacquelyn Buckley, Manager, Digital & Strategic Markets

"...helped me to lead like a woman and be OK with not being the expert anymore"

"Now I’m much more comfortable with being me; with less angst, second guessing and lingering “yuk”.

I know I’m a better leader and far less stressed as a result" - Prachi Vyas, Senior Manager, Applications Development

About Karen

Leadership insight grounded in the real world

I know these systems from the inside. I know how they operate, and how they often overlook talented women.

I am Dr Karen Jones, founder of Align Change Thrive. I spent nearly three decades in commercial STEM companies, including 13 years in corporate leadership, before building the work I once needed myself.

I understand what it is to be highly capable, deeply committed and still find that effort is not translating into the authority, recognition or fulfilment you expected. I also know that women do not need to armour up, perform confidence or abandon who they are to become influential leaders.

My work brings together lived corporate experience, commercial leadership and behavioural coaching to help women understand the patterns beneath what is happening—and practise a more grounded, strategic and sustainable way to lead within the systems they are actually navigating.

Meet Karen.

Organisational Pathway

For Commercial STEM Organisations

Develop women. Strengthen leadership culture.

When capable women are over-relied upon but under-recognised, the cost is felt far beyond individual progression.

Teams lose strategic capacity, organisations lose valuable perspectives and strong leaders can become depleted, disengaged or ready to leave.

Align Change Thrive partners with STEM organisations to develop women who lead with greater clarity, confidence, influence and sustainability—creating stronger outcomes for individuals, teams and the wider business.

You do not need to prove yourself through exhaustion.

Start by discovering the leadership pattern shaping how you work, how others see you and what needs to change next.

Ten questions. A clear result. A practical next step towards Aligned Authority.
